Today, July 4, most Americans are celebrating our nation's Masonically-inspired revolution against the English crown. (For more on the Masonic origins of our nation's birth, as well as the anti-Catholic nature of the revolutionary mindset per se, please look for the new 2008 edition of my "Wake Up America" 6-CD set, which I hope to put out this fall before the presidential election. Previous versions of this set, which we've sold over the past 10 years, have been one of our best-selling items.)
Counterfeit Catholics have, of course, for fifty years been celebrating their equally Masonically-inspired revolution against the crown rights of Christ the King and the authentic Catholic Faith -- a Faith I strive by God's grace to defend, and a revolution I strive to denounce, despite much opposition from the "Catholic" establishment, such as Tim Staples of Catholic Answers, who came to my talk in San Diego a week ago to publicly argue with me from the microphone during the Q & A session. I challenged him to a full-dress debate on any aspect of my talk, such as Vatican II, the New Mass, or Benedict XVI, in which Mr. Staples would be obliged to defend the orthodoxy of any of the above -- in other words, to defend the indefensible (in my opinion). He said he would have to get his boss Karl Keating's permission. I said I'd be happy to also have Scott Hahn, Pat Madrid, Steve Ray, Karl Keating, or some other Novus Ordo apologist pinch hit for Mr. Staples. If any of these gentlemen ever take me up on my offer, we'll let you know here on the website when and where the debate will be. It should prove to be an exciting event. Maybe we can get EWTN to tape and broadcast it!
My talk in San Diego was part of my June 25-July 1 speaking tour of southern California (San Diego, Riverside / San Bernardino, Orange County, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield), during which I gave 27 talks, and from which I returned this past Tuesday night (July 2). After being home for only a few hours I drove 5 hours with my family up to Massachusetts for a gathering with my wife Leslie's extended family, who are celebrating a wedding today. On Saturday, July 5, at 7 pm, I will be giving my talk on "Counterfeit Catholicism" in Middleboro, Massachusetts (about 1/2 hour south of Boston), and will give it again at 7 pm the following evening (Sunday, July 6) in Waterbury, Connecticut halfway home on my drive back to Scranton (details below). These will be my very last speaking engagements ever in eastern MA and CT. Once back home late that night / early Monday morning, I'll have only 24 hours to prepare and pack for my July 8-25 speaking tour of New Zealand and Australia.

As I previously posted here on my website, during July 11-22 I will be speaking and debating throughout New Zealand and Australia while Benedict XVI is there in Sydney during World Youth Day (WYD). In these talks and debates I hope by God's grace to convincingly demonstrate two things. First, that Ratzinger was and is an unrepentant Modernist before, during, and since Vatican II -- albeit a cleverly disguised Modernist, with a slick veneer of "traditionalism" about him. Second, since Modernism is heresy (in fact "the synthesis of all heresies," as Pope St. Pius X stated), and since heresy automatically excommunicates one from the Catholic Church, Ratzinger obviously cannot be the head of a Church of which he is not even a member.
The Vatican II "catholicism" that Benedict (like his four immediate predecessors, John XXIII though John Paul II) promotes is a counterfeit catholicism. While retaining many elements of the true Faith, it also removes elements of the Faith and replaces them with religious errors such as ecumenism, religious liberty, the notion that Muslims adore with Christians the one true God, the notion that the Old Covenant is still in force and can enable those who reject Our Lord Jesus as Messiah and Son of God to nevertheless be saved, the notion that the Bible contains errors, etc., etc. -- religious errors that, long before Vatican II, had already been authoritatively and permanently condemned by the magisterium of the Catholic Church. (That's why neo-Catholics don't want you reading magisterial documents issued before Vatican II.)
After 5 days and evenings of talks on both the north and south islands of New Zealand (Auckland, Whangarei, Wanganui, Wellington, and Christchurch), including a debate with Kevin Bennett of the SSPX (and possibly Fr. Francois Laisney of the same) on whether or not Benedict XVI is a valid pope, I will fly over to Australia to speak in Sydney, Canberra (the capital of Australia), Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.
In Sydney, Australia I will not only give a free public talk on this topic to which WYD attendees will be invited, I will also be passing out thousands and thousands of pamphlets entitled "Three Arguments Proving Why Benedict XVI is Not A True Pope" to the thousands and thousands of young people and others who will have come from all over the world for this event. They need to hear the truth about Benedict, and not modernist Rome's slick public-relations image.
This trip "Down Under" fits in perfectly with the objectives of my current seven-year (2206-2012), 300-city, international "mega tour," in which I intend (God willing) to re-visit, one final time, every place I have ever spoken in my 22-year (thus far) career as a full-time professional apologist for the Catholic Faith. I have already visited over 120 cities on this mega tour since it began two years ago.
I have had three previous lecture tours of Australia and New Zealand in 1993, 1994, and 2001, giving over a hundred talks on these tours as well as debating several aggressively anti-Catholic Protestant clergy in both countries. But I have not returned to either country since becoming a "consistent Catholic," i.e., one who completely rejects, not only the New Mass but all the other "revised" sacraments, the entire Second Vatican Council, and the men who promulgated it and continue to this day to implement it (i.e., John XXIII through Benedict XVI).
Although I have not yet raised all the funds necessary to pay for this trip, I have stepped out in faith and committed to the trip, purchasing all the necesary tickets with my credit card. Having done so, however, I have no money left to print up the thousands of copies of the pamphlet on Benedict XVI for distribution on WYD and throughout the rest of Australia as well.
Can you help? This is a unique opportunity to present to eager pilgrims from all around the world -- already assembled at others' expense, and already professing to be Catholics -- the eye-opening difference between authentic versus counterfeit Catholicism. Think of the impact we could have, as God empowers these energetic young people go back to their respective countries with their eyes at last opened to the fraud of Vatican II, eager to share what they've learned with their fellow countrymen and women back home. Like the guileless child in Hans Christian Andersen's famous fairy tale, these young people will be enabled to assert, to the consternation of their counterfeit-abetting elders, that the pseudo-papal "emperor" is denuded of Catholic orthodoxy.
I need to raise the remaining funds before I leave on July 8. You can donate in any one of three ways:
1) You can call me at (570) 969-1724. If you get my voicemail because I'm away from my desk, please leave your Visa or MasterCard number and expiration date on my voicemail, and I will retrieve it later in the day. Your information is secure, as no one accesses my voicemail but me.
2) If you already have a Pay Pal account, simply go to www.paypal.com, log in, select "Send Money," type in my e-mail address, gmatatics@aol.com, in the "Send to" space, and enter the amount you wish to donate.
3) If you don't have a Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal account, you can send a check or money order to me at PO Box 569, Dunmore PA 18512. But if you are from outside the US, you will need to use an international money order, not a personal check, as the donation must be in US funds drawable on a US bank.
Please feel free to forward this letter to anyone for whom you have an e-mail address who you think might be interested in supporting this trip to Australia during World Youth Day. If you have friends or family members who don't have an e-mail address, but have a fax machine, you could fax them a printed copy of this e-mail.
I'm praying fervently that God will fire us all up with a consuming zeal for the salvation of souls -- especially those poor souls now being spiritually seduced by Ratzinger, who has successfully persuaded so many, even so-called "traditionalists," that he is a "true believer" who's "at last restoring Tradition to the Church." Obviously such people have not read Ratzinger's books, in which he manifests his Modernism constantly, such as his disdain for scholastic theology and St. Thomas, his liberal views on the Old Testament (e.g., the serpent in Genesis 3 is a literary motif borrowed from pagan fertility cults), his indifferentist assertions that Protestantism today is not heresy and that Protestants need not convert to Catholicism, his heretical statement that one can reject the teachings of Vatican I on the universal jurisdiction of the papacy and still be a believing Christian, his enthusiasm for evolution (including the evolution of dogma), etc. etc. ad nauseam. Obviously such people have never reflected on the significance of Benedict's entering a Jewish synagogue to pray with Jews, or his entering a mosque to pray with Muslims, or his gleeful acceptance of an ornate copy of the blasphemous Koran, or any number of other, equally apostate actions.
We can't just shake our heads at such folks' blindness -- we've got to combat it! I'm willing to do so, and to take time out of my already over-crammed summer schedule to travel as your representative, if you will, halfway around the world to World Youth Day, and throughout Australia and New Zealand, to reach folks with the truth about the counterfeit Catholicism that has spread like a plague through the Catholic world over the last fifty years -- if you can help me to print up sufficient quantities of the pamphlet. (I'll send a free copy to everyone who donates, of course.)
Please let me hear from you (and any others whom you might contact) today, if at all possible. July 8 is only 4 days away. Thank you so much, and may God richly reward you, both here and hereafter.
Yours for the uncompromising proclamation of the divinely revealed Catholic Faith, outside of which there is no salvation, and in obedience to Christ our King and Mary our Queen Mother,
Gerry Matatics
