Admin day today: no Psalms class (Thurs, Feb 22)
Dear Friends:
As I mentioned at the beginning of my School of Psalms Facebook Live broadcast last night, the hours of prep I have to do each day for that evening's broadcast have forced me to fall seriously behind in answering correspondence, returning calls, etc.
When someone called twice this week wondering why I hadn't acknowledged a recent letter from him, I realized I couldn't allow my present backlog to continue. My Caller ID informed me that the same man called again last night (for the third time in two days) -- just before my broadcast began (perhaps he doesn't realize that I broadcast each night at 9) -- but of course I couldn't take his call without delaying my broadcast, which obviously I didn't wish to do.
Last night in my broadcast I mentioned that a health practitioner friend has a weekly "admin day" on which to come in to the office to catch up on paperwork, filing, etc, but sees no patients on that day. I now ruefully realize I need the same, as I likewise have no secretary (I can't afford to even pay myself an acceptable wage, let alone hire even a part-time employee) to attend to such matters, but must do them all myself.
I am therefore reluctantly forced to take one day each week to try to catch up on correspondence and other administrative duties, and this week that day is today (Thursday, Feb 22). Since my "admin day" precludes any prep time reading my Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and English psalters, commentaries, etc, there is no Psalms broadcast tonight. Our classes will resume tomorrow (Friday).
My admin day will not necessarily be Thursday each week; some weeks it may need to fall, for example, on a Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll play it by ear week by week, but will post before 9 pm to let you all know there's no broadcast to tune in to that night.
May God be granting you and yours a spiritually successful Lent. Thanks again to everyone for your support, patience, and prayers.
Yours in Jesus and Mary,
Gerry Matatics
